How to choose glasses for your face shape
Choose frames that contrast with your face shape. Round faces suit angular frames, square faces suit round or oval frames, heart-shaped faces suit light or bottom-heavy frames, oblong faces suit taller, bigger frames, and oval faces suit almost any shape. The frame should be about as wide as the widest part of your face.
Find your face shape first
Pull your hair back, look straight into a mirror and compare the width of your forehead, cheekbones and jaw with the length of your face. Or use our free Face Shape Tool.
Frames for each face shape
- Round (about as wide as long, soft jaw): rectangular, square, cat eye and browline frames. 107 frames available.
- Oval (a little longer than wide, balanced): almost any shape; bold and oversized styles work well. 118 frames available.
- Square (strong jaw, forehead and jaw similar width): round and oval frames, or thin metal frames that soften angles. 116 frames available.
- Heart (wider forehead, narrow chin): light, rounded or rimless frames and bottom-heavy styles. 134 frames available.
- Oblong (noticeably longer than wide): taller, bigger frames with depth, and decorative temples. 126 frames available.
Check the size
Frame sizes are written as three numbers, for example 52-18-145: lens width, bridge width and temple arm length, all in millimetres. Compare them with a pair you already own, printed on the inside of the arm. At Lens & Co you can also filter frames by Big, Medium and Small.

Frequently asked questions
What if my face is a mix of two shapes?
That is common. Go with the shape that describes your jawline and the widest part of your face, and try a few styles with the Virtual Try-On.
Does frame colour matter as much as shape?
Shape matters most for balance. Colour changes how bold the frame looks: dark and tortoise frames add definition, clear and metal frames look lighter.
